We honor our founder, Alan Hooker, and his legacy of preparing fresh foods and embracing the bounty of the garden. We are committed to continuing his tradition by using local and fresh ingredients in our scratch kitchen. Our produce is organic and locally sourced when possible, our seafood is of the highest level of sustainability, our meats are organic, grass-fed, free-range, and raised antibiotic and cruelty free. The Ranch House began at the turn of the 20th century when one of the first homes was built in the Ojai Valley. Alan and Helen Hooker converted this into a small boarding house in 1949 and served their guests a variety of fresh vegetarian meals, the produce grown in Alan's herb garden.
From these humble beginnings the Ranch House has transformed into the beloved and award winning restaurant it is today.
